How can youth in a community invite Bridges to engage with them in this Unveiling Youth Potential program?
Check out the program details on this website, click the links, and listen to the stories. Is this something that you and other youth in your community might want? Talk to others – your friends and siblings, your parents, your teachers, other people in the community you trust. Find out who could support you in this idea. Contact Bridges to ask questions.
When you know you are ready; INVITE Bridges to work with you and other youth in your community.
Why is an invitation by youth critical?
INVITATION BY YOUTH IS CRITICAL… Bridges must be invited by youth in a community. Although it is possible for Bridges to be invited into a community by non-youth members of a community (e.g. elders, the government, a corporate investor), Bridges’ will only be able to launch an Unveiling Youth Potential initiative in a community at the invitation of the youth in that community. Bridges will check with others to see whether critical community supports are in place for constructive youth engagement.
Who can participate in youth engagement?
Youth in a community between the ages of 15-27 and who are committed to stepping into an active and helpful role.
Youth leaders in a community can invite Bridges to engage with them in this program. Once this invitation is accepted, what does this initial Youth Engagement look like?
- Bridges’ Learning Coaches will guide youth leaders to gather intelligence and wisdom on local community needs and priorities. Youth will be encouraged to create their own “living” community maps
- This youth engagement will encourage the discovery of natural youth authority in the community
My Wisdom Tool - The drive for learning and leadership in your community must come from youth!
- Bridges Learning Coaches will help individual youth leaders learn to act as change agents in their community: learn how to be the change you want to see in the world!
Community Mapping Tool
- We can start to talk about possible entrepreneurship projects in your community that you can champion!
How much time will we need for the initial Youth Engagement?
Once an invitation from youth in a community is extended to Bridges, and partnering arrangements are clarified, initial youth engagement can take place between Bridges’ Learning Coaches and interested youth in a community over the course of about one week
PHASE 1 Project Frames and Time lines (initial 4-5 weeks)
Will Bridges’ Learning Coaches have all the answers?
NEVER! The goal of this engagement is to ensure that the wisdom of everyone is shared. This includes the wisdom of youth!
